July 7, 2018 - Fun Fly over a Swamp

I didn't get to fly during my vacation and needed a flying fix.  There were no fly-ins or friends flying.  What to do?  Fun fly!

There's a swampy area over on the northeastern edge of the Delmarva peninsula that I used to like to fly over in the Citabria.  So I headed there in the RV.

It was very green at this time of year.

I like swamps because there is no civilization, no towers, no wires, no people, no nothing.

Very green, very flat.

Flying north with the Delaware Bay/River on my right.

Now flying south.

Some color in a sea of green.

More color.

Following the Sassafras River west to the Chesapeake Bay.

A bunch of marinas at Fredericktown on the Sassafras River.

In the summer, when the weather is nice, like it is today. you can expect to see a lot of boats tied up on this river, having a floating party!

"The Road"

This is where the fish are, I guess.

About to turn base for runway 11 at Bay Bridge Airport.

Look at all the cars heading west across the Bay Bridge.

Turning final for Bay Bridge airport.
